Job summary

Evolve Scientific in Sydney is seeking an experienced Chemist to join our environmental testing laboratory. You will analyze environmental samples, operate GC-MS, GC and LC, and ensure timely turnaround while upholding QA/QC standards.

The role requires a degree in Chemistry and 3–5 years of hands-on laboratory experience, with strong GC-MS proficiency. Experience with LIMS and ISO 17025 is advantageous, and you will work independently while contributing to method improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or related field.
• 3–5 years of laboratory experience.
• Strong hands-on GC-MS experience is essential.
• Environmental testing experience is preferred.
• Experience with contaminants, organics, hydrocarbons or similar analytes.

Responsibilities

• Analyse environmental samples including soil and water.
• Operate and maintain GC-MS, GC and LC instrumentation.
• Perform sample preparation, extraction and analytical testing.
• Process and review QA/QC results and data.
• Conduct routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Support method improvements and laboratory efficiency.
