Job summary

22 Australasian Medical & Scientific Limited is seeking a curious and adaptable software developer to design, develop, test, and deploy cloud-based web applications across DEV, SIT, UAT, and PROD environments. You’ll work across backend and frontend technologies including Go, Python, PHP, JavaScript, HTML and CSS, with emphasis on clean coding practices, TDD, unit/integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 6–8 years of industry experience.
• Experience across backend and frontend technologies with Go, Python, PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS.
• Strong testing mindset: TDD, unit/integration tests, end-to-end tests, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

Where you come in:

• You design, develop, test, and deploy cloud-based web applications across DEV, SIT, UAT, and PROD environments.
• You develop and enhance web, e-commerce, CRM, and other enterprise applications.
• You troubleshoot and resolve functional and operational issues across cloud-based applications and support tickets.
• You contribute to modernizing legacy applications, including containerization, testing, documentation, and bringing applications up to current development standards.
• You work across both backend and frontend development to deliver reliable and maintainable SaaS applications.
• You collaborate with technology teams, business stakeholders, and project teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• You participate in Agile/Scrum-based projects and Kanban-style application support, adapting to changing priorities.
• You identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve repetitive processes and ways of working.
• You contribute to application testing, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• You document development work, technical changes, solutions, and processes to support maintainable applications.

What makes you successful:

• You have strong software development experience and are comfortable working across backend and frontend technologies.
• You have experience with Go, Python, PHP, JavaScript/Node.js, HTML, CSS, and associated frameworks and libraries.
• You have a strong understanding of clean coding practices, including TDD, unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
• You have experience with Google Cloud Platform, including technologies such as Cloud Run, Cloud Build, App Engine, Datastore, and BigQuery.
• You are comfortable working with Linux, Docker, Git, shell scripting, Ansible, and CI/CD.
• You have experience with relational databases such as MySQL and ORM technologies.
• You have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and can support high-availability, cloud-based applications.
• You are comfortable working across planned development projects and ad-hoc application support priorities.
• You bring a practical approach to process improvement, automation, and continuous improvement.
• You have experience working with CRM platforms, such as Veeva CRM, Salesforce, or Microsoft Dynamics CRM. This is a nice to have.
• You have experience with e-commerce platforms, particularly Shopify. This is a nice to have.
• You have experience developing custom WordPress themes and plugins using PHP, JavaScript, and third-party APIs. This is a nice to have.
• You have experience working with additional programming languages and technologies, including Python, Go, and JavaScript.
