Job summary

Downer is seeking 6 AI/ML Engineers to design, build and scale enterprise-grade AI and ML solutions. You’ll take models from prototype to production, integrating them into Downer’s technology landscape.

Ideal candidates are hands-on, curious and collaborative, comfortable working with Azure Databricks, Foundry ecosystems and a range of AI tooling. You will contribute to architecture, governance and delivery across Downer sites in Australia.

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineer who translates complex problems into reliable, maintainable solutions.
• Strong experience with Python, C#, SQL and modern coding practices.
• Able to collaborate with product, architecture, security and governance teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and deploy enterprise AI solutions across Azure Databricks and MS Azure.
• Develop clean, testable Python, C# and SQL code with good documentation.
• Build integrated PDLC and DDLC agent workflows delivering software and data pipelines.
• Implement MLOps pipelines with CI/CD for ML, training, evaluation and deployment.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture and code reviews.
