Job summary

Bemin Secondary College seeks classroom teachers to contribute to an innovative, inclusive learning community across its Junior and Senior campuses in Truganina, Melbourne. You will plan and deliver differentiated lessons, collaborate in a professional learning community, and support student wellbeing and engagement through evidence-based practice.

As part of a rapid-growth school, you will participate in school-wide improvement and work across campuses to implement Victorian Curriculum and VCE

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
• Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
• Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning. Demonstrated experience in using data to inform teaching practice and providing feedback on student learning growth and achievement to students and parents.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community to support student learning, agency, wellbeing and engagement.
• Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values. Demonstrated experience in reflecting upon practice and engaging in professional learning to continually improve the quality of teaching.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver programs across year levels with a focus on high quality teaching and learning.
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary PLC environment and work across campuses as required.
• Uphold School Wide Positive Behaviour framework and promote wellbeing and engagement.
• Provide feedback to students and parents to support learning growth and achievement.
• Contribute to home/school partnerships and actively participate in school improvement initiatives.
