Job summary

Recruit4staff is representing a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor seeking an Engineering Manager to work at Seascale. The role provides senior technical leadership and delivers on a major regulated infrastructure contract, overseeing design assurance, governance and risk across design to handover.

Key responsibilities include CDM Principal Designer duties, managing interfaces for permanent and temporary works, and guiding multidisciplinary engineers to safe, compliant

Qualifications

• Senior engineering or design leadership experience in civil infrastructure or major projects.
• Strong construction-phase design management experience.
• Knowledge of CDM Principal Designer duties.
• Familiarity with NEC contracts.
• Civil engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to work from the contract office four days per week.
• Chartered status (CEng, MICE, MIStructE, MCIBSE).

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership and project delivery on a major infrastructure contract.
• Oversee design assurance, engineering governance, risk management and constructability.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams through design, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Fulfil CDM Principal Designer duties and manage permanent/temporary works interfaces.
• Collaborate with project, construction, commercial and client teams to ensure safe, compliant solutions.
