Job summary

The Royal Australian Mint is seeking a Senior Engineer or Senior Technician to join the Engineering, Assets & Quality (EAQ) branch in Canberra. You will contribute to production capability, run process improvements, and support manufacturing activities across industrial, tooling, and process engineering functions.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor of Engineering or a diploma in a relevant field, with strong systems engineering, project management and stakeholder engagement skills.

Qualifications

• Senior Engineer: requires a Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent per the Washington Accord.
• Senior Technician: requires a diploma in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Applying Systems Engineering principles to designs that are safe, functional and cost effective.
• Developing documentation to align with quality, safety and risk management systems.
• Presenting information in various formats including presentations and technical reports; conducting meetings.
• Applying Project Management principles to plan, manage and deliver complex projects.
• Engaging with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds to gather information and manage expectations.
• Working with production staff and engineers to identify, plan and undertake process improvements.
• Conducting independent research of standards and literature to determine requirements.
• Providing sound technical and engineering advice within scope of knowledge.
• Identifying and pursuing opportunities for self-development.
