Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an engineering professional with skills in Stormwater, Hydrology and Flood Modelling and a passion for water resources to join our Northern NSW Water Resources team and help us deliver exciting and impactful projects.

We value wellness and flexibility; your role can be part-time or full-time, and you can be based in Newcastle or any of our other Northern NSW offices (Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbor, Tuggerah, Tamworth, Orange or Lismore).

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • A broad range of projects including major infrastructure, flood risk assessments and mitigation, stormwater and waterway management
  • Conducting hydrology, hydraulic modelling, flood modelling and mapping
  • Leading hydrological and hydraulic modelling and analysis to inform planning studies through to detailed design of new infrastructure.
  • Delivering creative solutions, proposals, and technical reporting
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, including business development, and engagement throughout project delivery.
  • Technical leadership and project management to guide key projects and mentoring other team members.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar
  • 7 – 15 years of experience in the water industry
  • Experience with using hydrology and hydraulic modelling software GIS, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS or MUSIC
  • A good understanding of industry standards such as AR&R.
  • Experience in preparing winning proposals and the successful delivery of projects
  • The ability to lead and/or work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team across the project lifecycle
  • Strong client relationship skills and project management skills in water resources projects
