Job summary

Urban Utilities is seeking a Senior Engineer Government Projects to partner with government agencies, consultants and contractors across South East Queensland. You will provide technical leadership from planning through to construction and asset handover on major infrastructure programs.

You'll assess project impacts, deliver expert advice, and help protect our water and wastewater assets while navigating complex stakeholder environments. Chartered or eligible RPEQ registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Chartered Engineer and/or RPEQ or eligible.
• Experience in infrastructure, utilities, transport or major projects.
• Proven ability to review designs and assess impacts.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication.
• Experience managing risk across concurrent projects.
• Customer-focused with sound commercial judgement.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice for government infrastructure projects.
• Lead impact assessments and design reviews for compliance.
• Build relationships with government agencies, consultants, contractors and stakeholders.
• Manage project risks and develop asset protection solutions.
• Deliver engineering recommendations to support decisions.
• Support project assurance, construction compliance and asset handover.
• Contribute to engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
