Job summary

Transport Main Roads (TMR) in Cloncurry is seeking a Senior Engineer (Civil) to lead delivery of multiple road infrastructure projects, overseeing contract administration and coordinating design, construction and maintenance activities.

In the role of Senior Engineer (Civil), some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support and advice on the planning and design process, to ensure delivery of project outcomes, value for money and best practice are achieved.
  • Maintaining and applying all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary for the design and construction of road infrastructure projects.
  • Determining the engineering requirements, including materials, critical components and systems, involved in supporting project management and delivery.
  • Managing projects, you will have the responsibility to plan, assign, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff that would include encouraging teamwork and fostering a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives.
  • Managing and maintaining effective liaison and communication with all levels of internal and external stakeholders on all matters relating to transport infrastructure delivery activities.
  • Undertaking contract management and administration of road infrastructure projects.

To succeed in this role, you will possess:

  • A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent recognised by Engineers Australia.
  • Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to the position, however applications will also be considered if evidence is provided that an assessment for RPEQ has commenced.
  • Current holder of a Class C driver licence.
  • Must be eligible to work in Australia.
  • It is a condition of employment that the recommended applicant is to disclose any previous serious discipline action taken against them for consideration by the delegate prior to any appointment.
  • Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
