Job summary

Halcyon Knights Pty Ltd in Melbourne is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own backend services in Python and help scale our AI-powered travel booking platform. This hybrid, permanent role gives you real ownership over how the product is built and delivered.

You will work across the stack with React on the frontend, design and integrate APIs with travel supplier systems, and help shape engineering standards as the team grows.

An Australian travel technology startup is building AI-powered booking tools that make travel planning faster, smarter and more personalised. They’ve secured seed funding and are targeting a Series A in the next six months. This role exists to strengthen the core engineering team as the platform scales, with real ownership over how the product is built.
What you’ll be doing:

• Building and owning backend services in Python that power the booking experience
• Shipping features across the stack, with React on the frontend
• Integrating with travel supplier and partner systems so bookings work reliably
• Shaping engineering standards and architecture as the team grows
• Keeping delivery moving through a simple, no-fuss CI/CD process

Must have:
