Job summary

National Australia Bank is seeking a contract‑based employment lawyer to provide highly technical advice supporting a large payroll remediation programme. You will act as the primary legal partner to a remediation squad, handling nuanced employment matters and guiding timely, practical outcomes.

Ideal candidates bring admitted status with an Australian practising certificate, strong experience in employment and industrial relations within large regulated organisations, and excellent stakeholder

Qualifications

Admitted legal practitioner with current Australian practising certificate.
Experience in employment and industrial relations law.
Experience in large, regulated organisations or complex programmes.
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Deliver highly technical employment law advice to support a large, complex payroll remediation programme.
Act as the key legal partner to a remediation squad, resolving nuanced and sensitive employment matters.
Identify, assess and manage legal risk while enabling timely and practical remediation outcomes.
Provide clear, commercially pragmatic advice to senior stakeholders across Legal, HR and the business.
Support continuous improvement by contributing to legal frameworks, guidance and post-matter reviews.
Coordinate effectively with internal legal colleagues and external advisers as required.
