Q-CTRL is hiring a Staff Embedded Software Engineer in Sensing R&D to drive real-time embedded software, FPGA and firmware across next-generation quantum sensors. You will lead ground-up MCU architecture, own critical interfaces, and mentor engineers in a cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on embedded software engineering experience in real-time systems.
• Expertise in Rust (embedded) or C/C++ for bare-metal MCU/RTOS.
• Experience with FPGA/SoC integration and high-bandwidth DMA.
• Ability to trade-off design decisions for reliability and maintainability.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Familiarity with hardware interfaces (SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, PCIe, Ethernet).
• Experience with HIL testing environments and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of DO-178C or high-reliability standards is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Lead the ground-up firmware architecture on microcontrollers for low SWaP-C control systems.
• Own system-level embedded software and FPGA interfaces across Sensing R&D.
• Architect firmware for platform integration supporting real-time data capture and displays.
• Define long-term embedded software roadmap toward higher TRLs and qualification.
• Drive CI/CD, automated testing, HIL testing, and simulation workflows.
• Collaborate with product managers and leads to align technical vision with goals.
• Mentor engineers and promote knowledge sharing across the department.
