Job summary

Saltworth is seeking an Experienced Embedded Firmware Design Engineer in New South Wales to lead firmware development for industrial electronic products. You will design, implement and validate firmware that tightly integrates with hardware, power electronics and sensors, ensuring reliable performance across product families.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, robust debugging, and clear documentation of decisions, interfaces and test results.

Qualifications

Must have hands-on Embedded C / firmware design experience.
Experience with firmware architecture, control logic, diagnostics, fault handling and event logging.
Proven ability to implement low-level drivers, state machines and timing-critical routines.
Strong hardware/firmware integration experience with MCUs, peripherals and sensors.
Experience with board bring-up, validation, production support and field issue investigation.
Ability to document design decisions, interfaces, constraints and test outcomes.

Responsibilities

Design and develop firmware for commercial electronic products.
Architect firmware systems and ensure robust control logic and diagnostics.
Develop and maintain low-level drivers, state machines and timing-critical routines.
