AMENTUM is seeking a Senior Maintenance Electrician to join the Operations & Maintenance team in Alice Springs, Central Australia. This role offers a challenging, mission-critical environment with a focus on reliability and safety.

You will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical infrastructure, provide technical leadership, mentor junior tradespeople, and support continuous improvement across power distribution, motors, and control systems.

Qualifications

• Australian A Grade Electrical Licence is required.
• Minimum 10 years' post-trade experience.
• Experience in industrial electrical maintenance environments.
• Knowledge of power distribution systems and industrial electrical infrastructure.
• Experience with industrial control circuits and VFDs.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Electrician to join a highly skilled Operations & Maintenance team based in Alice Springs. This is a rare opportunity to work within a secure, mission-critical environment where reliability, technical excellence, and teamwork are essential.

As a key member of a multi-disciplinary maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving critical electrical infrastructure and facility systems, ensuring operational continuity across a complex and technically advanced site. In addition to hands‑on maintenance activities, you will provide technical leadership, mentor junior tradespeople, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Role

Performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on facility infrastructure and electrical systems

Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults across a diverse range of equipment and plant

Maintaining power distribution systems, motors, control systems, and associated infrastructure

Responding to operational incidents, equipment failures, and emergency maintenance requirements

Providing technical guidance and support for complex troubleshooting and plant breakdowns

Assisting with installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment and infrastructure

Reviewing and updating technical documentation, drawings, panel schedules, and operating procedures

Supporting continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, safety, and operational performance

Mentoring and developing Maintenance Electricians within the team

Working collaboratively with operations personnel and other technical disciplines to achieve maintenance objectives

About You

You are an experienced industrial electrician with strong technical capability, leadership qualities, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

To be successful, you will possess:

Australian A Grade Electrical Licence

Minimum 10 years' post-trade experience

Strong experience in industrial electrical maintenance environments

Sound knowledge of power distribution systems and industrial electrical infrastructure

Experience with industrial control circuits and variable frequency drives (VFDs)

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities

Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety standards

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Highly Regarded Experience

The following experience will be viewed favourably:

High Voltage operations

Instrumentation and control systems

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

Enterprise Maintenance Systems such as SAP or Archibus

Experience working with 110V (US) electrical systems

Refrigeration, HVAC, or other complementary trade qualifications
