Job summary

Aggreko is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design and delivery across Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth. You will prepare and review detailed electrical designs, support on-site implementation, and provide high-quality technical input to assure governance.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive asset reliability, and ensure compliance with grid and regulatory requirements across HV, MV, LV, substations, and related systems in diverse energy assets.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• 8–12 years' experience in electrical engineering for large-scale infrastructure, power generation, transmission, or renewable energy assets.
• Experience with grid connection processes and power system studies.
• Strong understanding of HV, MV, and LV electrical systems.
• In-depth knowledge of Australian Standards, network requirements, and power industry practices.
• Advanced electrical engineering design and review capability.
• Commercially aware and risk-based engineering judgement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver robust, compliant, and constructible electrical engineering solutions for assigned projects.
• Identify and manage electrical engineering risks within the scope.
• Support projects through development, delivery, commissioning, and operation.
• Provide high-quality electrical engineering assurance and design reviews for Team Lead approval.
• Improve asset reliability, availability, and performance for supported assets.
• Ensure compliance with grid connection and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate across project, operational, and commercial teams.
• Apply engineering standards and industry best practices consistently.
• Participate in tender evaluations, technical clarifications, supplier assessments, and contractor engagement.
