Job summary

Bayside Group is partnering with a Tier 1 engineering consultancy to recruit an Associate Electrical Engineer in Melbourne. The role leads technical delivery across utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems, wind generation and HV infrastructure, shaping outcomes from concept through commissioning.

You will advise developers and investors, influence decisions and mentor engineers while building strong client relationships within a global engineering organisation.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree required or equivalent.
• RPEV registration and/or CPEng status preferred.
• Extensive experience with utility-scale BESS, renewables, HV substations or power infrastructure.
• Proven track record in TDD and/or Owner’s Engineer delivery roles.
• Strong design knowledge and ability to lead complex technical discussions.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical reviews and design delivery across BESS, renewables and HV substations.
• Deliver Technical Due Diligence (TDD) for lenders, investors and developers.
• Provide Owner’s Engineer support across delivery and commissioning phases.
• Review EPC/OEM designs, specifications and commissioning docs.
• Manage scope, budgets, resourcing and technical risk on projects.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to proposals and client engagement.

Bayside Group is recruiting an Associate Electrical Engineer for our Tier 1 engineering consultancy client to lead technical delivery across utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), wind farms, and high-voltage (HV) infrastructure.

About the Role

You will provide technical leadership across BESS and HV project delivery, supporting clients with independent engineering, technical due diligence, and Owner’s Engineer services.

Key responsibilities include:

Skills & Experience

To be considered, you will ideally have:

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering
• RPEV registration and/or CPEng status (Engineers Australia)
• Extensive experience across utility-scale BESS, renewables, HV substations or power infrastructure
• Proven TDD and/or Owner’s Engineer delivery background
• Strong primary electrical design knowledge and confidence leading complex technical conversations
• Excellent technical reporting and stakeholder communication skills
