Job summary

Arcadis is expanding its renewables capability in Australia and seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer or Designer to shape energy transition projects and support the growth of its renewables offering.

Role involves preparing utility-scale solar farm designs, leading engineering packages, and delivering high-quality documentation while coordinating across disciplines.

Qualifications

• 7 years design experience in renewable energy projects with 2 years in PV design.
• 2 years experience using PVCase, Helios 3D and/or PVSyst.
• Experience with CAD software such as Cymcap, ETAP, Revit.
• Experience preparing engineering design packages including drawings, reports, datasheets, BOMs and layouts.
• Knowledge of codes and standards relevant to solar energy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare utility-scale solar farm designs using PVCase/Helios 3D.
• Support projects through full lifecycle: feasibility to detailed design.
• Prepare engineering deliverables: drawings, reports, cable sizing.
• Lead engineering packages and oversee team for project design submissions.

Role description:

Arcadis is growing its renewables capability across Australia and is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer or Designer to support our expanding renewable energy pipeline. This is an opportunity to help shape meaningful energy transition projects while supporting the growth of our renewables offering.

Role accountabilities:

• Prepare utility scale solar farm design using advanced PV modelling software such as PV Case or Helios 3D.
• Support projects through the full project lifecycle including feasibility studies, concept design, development support, owner's engineering and detailed design.
• Prepare engineering deliverables including drawings, design reports, cable sizing calculations.
• Working with the team, prepare complete package for the appropriate project design submission stage.
• Apply engineering knowledge, techniques, tools, and compliance with codes and standards to deliver designs.
• Taking responsibility for the preparation of detailed engineering documentation and leading the engineering effort for project including providing technical and performance oversight for members of the team.
• Manage selected projects, project task/responsibilities as assigned, and/or design processes (or parts of projects) to meet agreed budget, quality and timeframe targets.
• Conduct internal review and quality checks of engineering models, calculations, and other deliverables to ensure compliance with the project's requirements and delivering the fully documented package to meet Client objectives and Arcadis quality system requirements.
• Leading interdisciplinary coordination as required for the project.
• Leading technical issue resolution processes.
• Liaise with other disciplines and ensure all requirements are understood.
• Understanding scope and change in scope when it arises.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 7 years’ engineering design experience in renewable energy projects with 2 years in PV design.
• 2 years’ experience using PVCase, Helios 3D and/or PVSyst solar design software.
• Experience working with CAD softwares, Cymcap, ETAP, Revit.
• Experienced in preparing engineering design packages including design drawings, engineering reports, datasheets, MTO, BOM, Layouts, Schematics and other documents.
• Experience with the codes and standards relevant to solar energy sector.
• Bachelor/ Diploma in electrical engineering or civil engineering from recognized institution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Excellent mathematical skills applied in engineering calculations.
• Ability to provide innovative solutions to technical problems.

Highly Regarded Skills

• Familiarity with the Australian solar energy sector.
• Consulting experience for Australian solar or other power projects.
• Professional registration or membership with any leading engineering body such as Engineers Australia.
• Experience in utility-scale solar and BESS projects, including concept, development, owner's engineer and detailed design delivery.
• Design & Drafting skills.
• Engineering Degree in Electrical.
• Using python scripting for automating tasks.
