Senior Electrical Engineer, Renewable Solar Design

Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer or Designer to support its growing renewables capability in Australia. You will contribute to utility-scale solar design, feasibility studies and owner's engineering, guiding the team through detailed design and documentation.

The role requires hands-on design experience, strong knowledge of PV modelling tools and CAD software, and excellent English communication to liaise with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

Qualifications

• 7 years of engineering design experience in renewables, with 2 years in PV design.
• 2 years using PVCase, Helios 3D and/or PVSyst.
• Experience with CAD software such as Cymcap, ETAP, Revit.
• Experience in preparing design packages including drawings, reports, datasheets, MTO, BOM, layouts, schematics.
• Experience with codes and standards relevant to solar energy sector.
• Bachelor/Diploma in electrical or civil engineering.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Excellent mathematical skills applied in engineering calculations.
• Ability to provide innovative technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare utility scale solar farm design using PV modelling software (PVCase, Helios 3D, PVSyst).
• Lead engineering design packages from feasibility to detailed design.
• Produce drawings, reports, datasheets, MTO, BOM, layouts and schematics.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards and client requirements.
• Provide technical oversight and mentoring for team members.
• Manage project tasks, budgets, quality and timeframes.
• Coordinate with other disciplines for project delivery.
