Job summary

Origin Energy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design and technical assurance for distributed energy resource projects across solar, batteries, EV charging and more. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimise safety, compliance and value.

Based in Brisbane, you’ll apply Australian Standards and engage with customers, partners and delivery teams, using data and AI-driven approaches to improve engineering outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ electrical engineering experience in solar, batteries, EV charging or distributed energy resources.
• Electrical Engineering degree; CPEng status or in progress; RPEQ and SAA solar/battery design accreditation valued.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, network connections and detailed design; HV and protection experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and technical assurance of distributed energy resource projects.
• Develop and review concept and detailed designs, specifications, calculations, single line diagrams and connection documentation.
• Balance safety, design quality, compliance, constructability and whole‑of‑life value; use AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency.
