Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Transmission Lines

We are working with a global leader in the renewable energy and infrastructure sector who is committed to driving the transition toward a low-carbon economy. They demonstrate unparalleled technical expertise in constructing and recovering infrastructure such as roads, rail, bridges, water treatment facilities, and renewable energy assets.

Our client is currently looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. You will bring expertise in transmission lines or related sectors, along with a proven ability to lead electrical design, oversee project execution, and manage stakeholder relationships. This role is key to delivering complex projects safely and efficiently, combining strong technical leadership with seamless project coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Leadership:

• Lead the planning, conceptual, and detailed design of major transmission line projects.
• Carry out technical calculations and develop engineering documentation and procurement specifications.
• Manage digital design records, including drawing registers, change requests, and transmittals.
• Prepare cost estimates for both Design and Construction (D&C) phases.

Project Delivery:

• Manage the preparation and coordination of project documentation in collaboration with clients, partners, and internal teams.
• Oversee the selection and installation of electrical equipment to meet design and performance criteria.
• Drive the scoping, definition, and tendering phases during procurement.
• Coordinate contract and tender documents, ensuring proper documentation of safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Support the development of management plans, commissioning documents, ITPs, performance testing plans, and O&M manuals.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and recommend solutions across civil and electrical disciplines.
• Engage with project teams and stakeholders to resolve engineering issues and ensure alignment.
• Prepare RFQs (Requests for Quotation) for electrical vendor equipment.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong background in secondary systems, transmission line projects, or related engineering fields.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex electrical design and lead multidisciplinary project teams.
• In-depth understanding of safety, quality, and environmental compliance within engineering projects.
• Experience in procurement, tender processes, and contract administration.
