Job summary

APA Group is seeking a Senior Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join the Gas Operations East team, based in Brisbane or Fyshwick. The role delivers complex EIC engineering projects, providing specialist technical input and ensuring safety, quality and schedules align with project goals.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, develop practical solutions, review designs and drive standardisation of EIC practices across the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical, Instrumentation or Control Engineering.
  • Experience in EIC engineering, preferably in gas/energy/utilities.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, instrumentation and control systems and relevant standards.
  • Proven ability to solve complex technical problems and apply engineering judgment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management across multidisciplinary teams.

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join us in our Gas Operations East team in Brisbane, QLD or Fyshwick, ACT on a Permanent Full-Time basis. Reporting to the Team Lead Project Delivery NSW, you will provide specialist engineering expertise, solve complex technical problems, deliver high-quality solutions, and collaborate with key stakeholders to support successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver complex Electrical, Instrumentation and Control (EIC) engineering projects, ensuring quality, safety, budget and schedule requirements are met.
  • Provide specialist EIC technical expertise and develop practical solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Prepare, review and approve engineering designs, technical documentation, specifications and deliverables in line with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with project teams, operations, contractors and key stakeholders to support effective project delivery and operational outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation and standardisation of EIC engineering practices, processes and technologies.
Your background
  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in EIC engineering, ideally within gas, energy, utilities, infrastructure or another complex industrial environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, control systems and relevant engineering standards, codes and regulations.
  • Proven ability to solve complex technical problems, apply sound engineering judgement and deliver practical, high-quality solutions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
