Summer Intern Program

At APA we’re not just about pipelines and power – we’re about powering potential.

Our Summer Intern Program is a structured and supported program that runs for 12 weeks from 30 November to February and gives you a taste of what it’s like to work with us and the energy infrastructure industry.

What can you expect?
  • Meaningful work, on-the-job-training and appropriate supervision whilst you’re learning and gaining hands‑on experience.
  • A supported program offering comprehensive on-boarding and induction, as well as virtual workshops with your peer cohort.
  • Opportunity to be considered for our Graduate Program dependant on positions and locations available for the coming year.
About You
  • You are currently studying a Bachelor of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • You’re available to complete a 12‑week summer intern program from 30 November 2026
  • You’re an Australian / New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident in Australia.
To be successful in this role you are someone who:
  • Enjoys learning, asking questions and building confidence through experience, knowing you don’t need to have all the answers on day one.
  • Has a strong sense of responsibility and care – you take pride in doing work that is safe, reliable and well thought through, understanding the impact engineering decisions have on communities and colleagues.
  • Has a collaborative mindset – you value teamwork, bring others along with you and feel comfortable learning from people with different perspectives, disciplines and backgrounds.
  • Is motivated to contribute to Australia’s energy infrastructure and are excited by the opportunity to support the energy transition.
