Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. seeks an experienced Senior Specialist, Environment Health & Safety to build and maintain a positive safety culture across IMSA sites in Fremantle, WA.

You will manage EH&S responsibilities, lead incident investigations, and drive continuous improvement of the EHS management system in line with AS 4801/ISO 45001. The role requires 6+ years in WHS, knowledge of State WHS legislation, strong stakeholder communication, and the ability to obtain NV1 clearance.

Qualifications

• Formal OHS/EHS qualifications/degree and/or significant practical experience in WHS (6+ years)
• Excellent understanding of WHS legislation for all States where facilities are located
• Demonstrated communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to hold and maintain an Australian Defence Clearance to a NV1 level

Responsibilities

• Actively promote a positive safety culture and general awareness across all L3Harris IMSA sites
• Project managing all aspects of IMSA EHS responsibilities including communicating responsibilities to employees
• Develop and maintain EHS Management system in line with legislation and AS 4801/ ISO 45001
• Lead reporting of incidents and hazards both internal and external, lead incident investigations and coordinate corrective actions coming out of incident and hazard reports
• Provide support and guidance to personnel across all sites with EHS
• Collaborate with Chief Warden to ensure that Emergency Response Plans are established, implemented and periodically tested and
• Conduct internal EHS audits of projects and facilitate external audits to maintain certification requirements
• Convene Safety Committee meetings as scheduled, assign actions and follow-up on close out of actions
• Work in partnership with Human Resources to manage workplace injuries and return to work of employees injured at work or outside the workplace
• Coordinate hazard identification and workplace inspections with staff at all sites, create action lists and follow-up on action close
• Prepare all EHS reporting for corporate requirements and external party requirements.
• Prepare, track and analyses key performance indicators, lag indicators and put recommendations forward to improve EHS performance
• Develop and deliver relevant EHS training including the safety induction. Source external providers where required
• Perform regulatory reporting for environmental, health and safety as required by local, state, and federal authorities
• Ensure relevant roles within their department/function are aware of their responsibilities for complying with relevant QHSE Management System policies and procedures.
• Comply with relevant QHSE Management System policies and procedures.
