Job summary

Performance Drivers is seeking an Employee Health and Safety Manager (Construction) to lead EH&S across major Canberra projects, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and client requirements.

This permanent, on-site role requires NV1 clearance or the ability to obtain it, and a minimum of five years in EH&S management on construction sites.

You will develop SWMS, risk assessments and safety plans, lead investigations, and foster a strong safety culture across project teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in an EH&S management or advisory role.
• Demonstrated experience on project-based, field services or construction environments.
• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety; Diploma or Degree highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide EH&S leadership across multiple project sites.
• Conduct site safety walks, toolbox talks and safety audits.
• Develop, review and approve SWMS, risk assessments and safety plans.
• Identify, assess and control EH&S hazards.
• Lead incident, near-miss and accident investigations.
• Track corrective actions through to completion.
• Deliver site inductions and EH&S training.
• Coach managers and supervisors to strengthen safety leadership.
• Facilitate EHS committee meetings and client EHS engagement.
• Drive continuous improvement of EHS systems and documentation.
