Job summary

Compare the Market is seeking a Senior Editor to lead our content team in Australia. You will merge human creativity with automation to uplift quality and consistency, while preserving our distinctive brand voice.

You will mentor writers, shape editorial processes, and collaborate with SEO, Marketing, Design and Brand teams to ensure compliant, high-impact content across our personal finance and household product coverage.

Qualifications

• Around ten years of hands-on content experience, with some leadership of writers.
• AI excites you and you’re tech-curious, quick to adapt to new tools and platforms.
• Solid grasp of SEO and ability to maintain a distinct brand voice across formats.

• Lead and Mentor: Guide a team of content writers across diverse content types, providing thoughtful feedback, coaching and editorial oversight
• Boost Productivity: Implement workflows where AI supports ideation, research and editing; track metrics and refine processes to increase output
• Collaborate across Teams: Partner with SEO, Marketing, Design and Brand teams to align content with broader goals, ensuring compliance and responsible AI use
• Write and Edit: Keep your editing and writing skills sharp, supporting the team as needed to meet publishing targets

What You’ll Be Doing

We’re looking for a Senior Editor to lead our talented content team - someone who can blend human creativity with automation tools to boost quality, consistency and productivity, without ever losing our distinctive brand voice.

About

This isn’t about mass automation or churning out content at scale. It’s about empowering writers, shaping smart processes and using AI to enhance creativity - not replace it. You’ll:

• Lead and Mentor: Guide a team of content writers across diverse content types, providing thoughtful feedback, coaching and editorial oversight
• Boost Productivity: Implement workflows where AI supports ideation, research and editing; track metrics and refine processes to increase output
• Collaborate across Teams: Partner with SEO, Marketing, Design and Brand teams to align content with broader goals, ensuring compliance and responsible AI use

What Sets You Apart

You’re a seasoned content creation / editing / journalism pro with around ten years of hands-on experience – with at least some of those leading and inspiring other writers. You know your way around an editorial calendar, a style guide and a well-crafted narrative AND you love mentoring others to do their best work.

AI doesn’t intimidate you - it excites you! You’re tech-curious and quick to adapt to new tools and platforms, so you’re keen to test exactly when AI can shine (and where human judgement is irreplaceable).

You’ll Need

• Solid grasp of SEO - we’re competing at the top level we want someone who loves playing in the big leagues
• Strong editorial judgment and ability to maintain a distinct brand voice across formats
• Ideally familiar with highly regulated industries with high standards for accuracy and compliance
