Job summary

Metro North Hospital & Health Service in Redcliffe Hospital’s Emergency Department seeks a Clinical Nurse to deliver advanced nursing care across minor to life-threatening emergencies, applying evidence-based practice and critical thinking in a fast-paced acute setting.

As a senior member of the nursing team you will lead, mentor and support registered nurses and other staff, contribute to quality improvement, and help coordinate day-to-day ED operations while pursuing service development

Qualifications

Provide expert clinical nursing care across a broad range of ED presentations.
Lead and mentor registered nurses and support staff in a high-pressure environment.
Respond to sudden changes in patient condition with advanced assessment and intervention.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for acute, complex conditions in the Emergency Department.
Provide leadership, guidance and supervision to nursing staff during complex presentations and emergencies.
Contribute to education, mentorship and professional development activities within the team.
Lead and participate in quality improvement, research and evidence-based practice initiatives to enhance patient care and ED performance.
