Job summary

The City of Rockingham is seeking a dynamic Senior Economic Development Officer to implement key actions from the Economic Development Strategy and actively promote investment and business opportunities within the City.

You will build relationships with existing businesses, market opportunities to potential investors, and analyse data to identify growth prospects in the Rockingham region. This full‑time, permanent role involves delivering tangible economic outcomes for the community.

Responsible for implementing key actions from the City’s Economic Development Strategy, you will also positively promote economic development, investment and business opportunities within the City.

A dynamic professional with economic and/or commercial property development experience, in either the private or public sector, you will build relationships with existing businesses, and market commercial and industrial opportunity to potential businesses, encouraging and enabling investment in the region. With previous experience in marketing for investment attraction, you are also able to analyse economic data and statistics to identify and develop growth opportunities.

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:

• Comprehensive understanding of economic development principles, including current issues and trends, preferably in the Rockingham region
• Well-developed understanding of modern marketing tactics and trends, with specific reference to economic development and investment attraction
• Broad knowledge and understanding of businesses and industries in the Rockingham region
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with prospective investors and promote the City

We are offering a gross annual salary range of $111,967 - $119,224 and :

• 12% superannuation with the opportunity to co-contribute up to a matching 5%
