Job summary

Aspen Medical’s Defence & National Security team seeks a Director – Clinical Governance to shape and strengthen governance across a complex national healthcare portfolio. You will lead the design, implementation and ongoing improvement of governance and assurance systems to deliver safe, high-quality healthcare services across metropolitan, regional, remote and on-base environments.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Governance, Health Management, Quality & Safety, Public Health, Healthcare Leadership or a related discipline.
• Significant senior leadership experience across clinical governance, healthcare quality, patient safety, accreditation, credentialling or healthcare assurance.
• Ability to translate governance requirements into practical operational solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of clinical governance frameworks, policies, standards and assurance mechanisms across the Defence & National Security portfolio.
• Provide leadership across clinical safety and quality, risk management, incident management, credentialling, professional assurance and clinical compliance.
• Establish and oversee clinical audit, performance monitoring and quality improvement programs, using data to drive learning.
• Lead credentialling, recredentialling and professional assurance frameworks ensuring registration, scope of practice, competency and standards.
• Provide high-quality clinical governance reporting, dashboards and assurance to executive, Board and stakeholders.
• Build and lead a high-performing Clinical Governance team and embed a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement.
