Job summary

Fortescue Integrated Technology (FIT) in Perth is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build and operate secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and AI platform services. You will collaborate with AI engineers, data scientists, infrastructure, networking and Cyber teams to raise delivery speed, reliability and security.

In this hands‑on role you will implement AWS Lambda, API Gateway and EventBridge, develop Terraform modules, build CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, and mentor others

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering or IT.
• Hands-on DevOps/Cloud engineering in enterprise environments.
• Strong AWS experience with Lambda, IAM, VPC, S3, CloudWatch.
• Terraform IaC with reusable modules and automated provisioning.
• CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and automated testing.
• Docker and Kubernetes expertise; Linux networking knowledge.
• Python and shell scripting for automation.
• Understanding AI/ML lifecycles and MLOps concepts.
• Security and identity controls including SSO and Entra ID integration.
• Proven technical delivery, mentoring and cross-team influence.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate AWS infrastructure and AI Platform services.
• Develop serverless solutions using Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS and Step Functions.
• Create Terraform modules for provisioning across environments.
• Build CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and automated testing, security controls and release management.
• Automate packaging, deployment and monitoring of AI applications and models.
• Deploy and troubleshoot Docker and Kubernetes workloads with secure integration.
• Implement cloud security controls and least-privilege access.
• Establish monitoring with CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus and Loki.
• Lead incident investigations and operational improvements for availability and performance.
• Provide technical leadership through mentoring and reviews.
