Job summary

Great Southern Bank is seeking a senior DevOps Engineer based in Brisbane to support, optimise and improve platforms underpinning our digital banking and payment systems. The role emphasises automation, reliability, security and operational excellence.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve CI/CD, patching, monitoring and incident response while providing technical leadership. This hands-on role offers scope to influence risk, resilience and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor-level or higher IT degree and relevant certifications.
Strong experience with AWS and cloud-native tech.
Proven DevOps delivery, automation and CI/CD capabilities.
Experience with Windows and Linux infrastructure and security practices.
Experience supporting mission-critical, customer-facing systems in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

Support and optimise critical application platforms and AWS cloud environments for high availability.
Improve CI/CD pipelines and automate build, deployment and operations.
Manage patching, vulnerabilities, capacity and platform lifecycle.
Configure and maintain monitoring and alerting for 24x7 systems.
Lead incident response and communications during service disruptions.
Provide technical leadership and drive continuous improvement across teams.
Participate in after-hours releases and 24x7 on-call roster.
