  • Strong knowledge of state and local planning policies, legislation, codes and guidelines and environmental approval processes.
  • Experience liaising and negotiating with Local and State Government bodies and other authorities/agencies.
  • Proven ability to engage and build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including members of the public and local communities.

Job description

Purpose and Main Responsibilities

The purpose of the role is to support with site assessments, due diligence and planning approval activities across GreenPoint Energy’s portfolio of early-stage renewable energy (wind, solar and battery) projects across Australia. The role requires a person with passion for working with local communities and Government to build Australia’s renewable energy future.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3–7 years of experience in town planning, development approvals, or environmental planning, preferably within the renewable energy, , or infrastructure sectors
  • Tertiary qualification in Urban/Town Planning, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • Strong working knowledge of State and Local planning policies, legislation, codes and guidelines and the environmental approval processes across Australian jurisdictions
  • Experience liaising and negotiating with Local and State Government bodies and other authorities/agencies
  • Proven ability to engage and build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including members of the public and local communities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills

Ability to work autonomously and drive initiatives in a fast-paced environment

  • Assist in tracking project milestones and key deliverables
  • Manage and engage a range of technical experts to facilitate the development approval process
  • Lead in securing planning approvals for a range of Renewable Energy Projects
  • Assist in community engagement activities
