Hickory in Melbourne seeks a Senior Development Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of significant industrial developments, reporting to the Chief Property and Development Officer. You will own Hickory’s $1B industrial and advanced manufacturing pipeline across Victoria and New South Wales.

The role combines hands-on delivery with strategic leadership, ensuring successful project outcomes, strong stakeholder engagement, and collaboration across a fast-paced team in a modern CBD setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in a Senior Development Manager role.
• Tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Property Development or Project Management.
• Strong understanding of project delivery frameworks.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale industrial developments and manufacturing facilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Site identification, due diligence and acquisition workstreams.
• Planning, design development and infrastructure delivery.
• Managing commercial outcomes, budgets and project feasibility.
• Engaging and overseeing consultants, contractors and delivery partners.
• Fostering and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify emerging project risks and recommend practical solutions.
• Drive portfolio prioritisation and optimisation.
• Contributing to the strategic direction and long-term vision of Hickory.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking to grow our Development Team with a passionate and motivated industrial focused Senior Development Manager. Reporting to the Chief Property and Development Officer, you will take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of significant large industrial developments. This is a pivotal, hands-on role opportunity for the successful candidate to lead and execute Hickory’s $1B industrial development and advanced manufacturing pipeline across Victoria and New South Wales.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE

• 5+ years’ experience in a Senior Development Manager role.
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as Architecture, Property Development, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of project delivery frameworks.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale industrial developments and manufacturing facilities.
• A collaborative and adaptable professional who thrives in a fast-paced team environment.
• Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.
• Commercially minded, detail-focused and results-driven.
• Comfortable operating autonomously while maintaining disciplined reporting to senior leadership.
• Exposure to Estate Master or similar financial feasibility tools is preferred.
