Job summary

MYOB is seeking a Senior Developer - Platform to join our API Platform team. This group sits at the heart of MYOB's technology ecosystem, building platform capabilities that enable secure, scalable integrations across our products.

You’ll work on the platform handling MYOB's API traffic and shape capabilities across AI, automation and developer experience. This role offers platform-scale challenges, opportunities for other teams to move faster, and cloud-native solutions with real impact.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Platform Engineer or similar.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Hands-on development in Python, Node.js, Go or TypeScript.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of containerisation and scalable architectures.
• Experience working in agile product teams.

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Developer - Platform to join our API Platform team. This team sits at the heart of MYOB's technology ecosystem, building and evolving platform capabilities that enable secure, scalable integrations across our products. You'll work on the platform responsible for handling MYOB's API traffic while helping shape future capabilities across AI, developer experience, automation and platform services. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving platform-scale challenges, enabling other development teams to move faster, and building cloud-native solutions that have an impact across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain platform capabilities that support MYOB product teams and customers.
• Develop and enhance API services, integrations and cloud-native solutions.
• Drive automation through DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure tooling.
• Build secure, scalable and resilient services using modern engineering practices.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, product managers and cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to platform reliability, monitoring, support and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in an on-call roster supporting production platform services.
• Champion engineering excellence through code reviews, testing, documentation and best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve developer experience, operational efficiency and platform performance.

What We'd Love To See

• Experience as a Platform Engineer, Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer or similar.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Experience designing and supporting APIs, integrations and distributed systems.
• Hands-on development experience with technologies such as Python, Node.js, Go or TypeScript.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling, automation and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure, containerisation and scalable architectures.
• Experience working within agile product development teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.
• A proactive mindset with a passion for ownership, continuous improvement and delivering business outcomes.

Nice to Have

• Experience with API management platforms such as Azure API Management or similar.
• Experience building internal developer platforms or shared engineering capabilities.
• Exposure to AI-assisted engineering or AI platform technologies.
• SaaS, digital product or enterprise platform experience.
• Experience supporting highly available, business-critical platforms.
