Description du poste

About us

Henning Larsen is a global design community operating across architecture, landscape architecture and urbanism. Founded in Copenhagen in 1959, the studio now works across nine countries including a recently established studio in Sydney. Following a series of significant project wins across Australia, we are continuing to grow our team.

It is our ambition to pioneer sustainable change through our work. Our approach is grounded in a deep understanding of people, place, climate and culture, bringing architecture and landscape together to create environments that are generous, enduring and responsive to their context. Through design, research and technical innovation, we seek to challenge convention and develop new models for a more sustainable built environment.

To continue this journey, we are looking for a Senior Designer / Architect to join our growing team in Australia.

What we are offering

As an integral member of our Sydney team, you will work across a diverse range of projects, from theatres and universities to masterplans and headquarters. You will join a collaborative design culture defined by curiosity, experimentation and iterative design, contributing to ambitious projects from early concept development through to detailed design.

Reporting to the Regional Director and Design Director, you will contribute to city-shaping projects across Australia and the wider region, while also playing an active role in bids and business development initiatives. You will work closely with our local team to develop and deliver ambitious, high-quality design outcomes, drawing on the expertise of Henning Larsen’s international network.

About you

This position is suited to a motivated Senior Designer / Architect with strong conceptual capability and a proven track record in design-led architectural practice. You will be comfortable developing sophisticated, innovative and rigorous design responses from initial strategy through to delivery.

Working closely with the Design Director, you will shape clear design narratives and ensure architectural intent is carried consistently through each stage of the project.

  • Minimum 5 years’ postgraduate professional experience in architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience in design competitions, feasibility studies and early-stage project development.
  • Strong conceptual and spatial design capability, supported by a technical understanding and the ability to develop, test and refine design options from the earliest stages of a project.
  • Strong visual and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly through drawing, diagrams, 3D modelling and presentations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Rhino, Revit, Enscape or D5, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience integrating environmental analysis and sustainability strategies into early-stage design.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary and international design teams.
  • Confidence presenting design work internally, to clients, project stakeholders and in formal design reviews.
  • Understanding of Australian planning frameworks, statutory processes and relevant design standards will be highly regarded.
  • Experience with Scandinavian and broader European design approaches and methodologies will be highly regarded.
