Job summary

Sydney Road Dental Care in Manly is seeking a Senior Dental Assistant & Clinical Team Leader to join our growing practice. This is a leadership-focused role combining hands-on chairside dentistry with people leadership to support our dentists and management team.

You will mentor the Dental Assistant team, uphold high clinical standards, and foster a positive, high-performing culture while delivering exceptional patient care. 38-hour week, 4 days, no weekend work.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ dental assisting experience.
• Strong leadership qualities and ability to lead by example.
• Experience mentoring or supporting other team members.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting is highly regarded (not essential).

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance to the Dental Assistant team.
• Mentor, coach, and develop fellow Dental Assistants.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new clinical team members.
• Lead by example in delivering outstanding patient care.
• Chairside assisting across cosmetic dentistry, surgical procedures, and clear aligner therapy.
• Oversee infection control and sterilisation procedures.
• Ensure treatment rooms and equipment are maintained to high standards.
• Support daily clinical workflow and team efficiency.
• Assist with stock management and ordering.

About the Role

As our Senior Dental Assistant & Clinical Team Leader, you will be a key leader within the practice, working closely with our dentists and management team to support the day‑to‑day operations of the clinical department.

You will lead by example, mentor and support fellow Dental Assistants, uphold exceptional clinical standards, and help create a positive, high-performing team culture.

This role combines hands‑on clinical dentistry with leadership responsibilities and offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact on both patient experiences and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance to the Dental Assistant team
