Job summary

Nine is seeking a Senior Delivery Manager to drive strategic agile practices across teams and portfolios. You will evaluate current practices, identify capability gaps, and lead thought leadership on agile applications.

The role focuses on aligning product, engineering, and vendor interactions to accelerate delivery and improve outcomes. You will facilitate retrospectives, dependency mapping, and multi-team planning, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

Qualifications

• Experience guiding software delivery in complex digital product organisations.
• Direct experience managing deployments across mobile, web, and TV platforms.
• Strong understanding of Lean, Scrum and Kanban principles.
• Ability to translate engineering constraints into clear options for product leaders and executives.
• Familiarity with AI to optimise delivery workflows and forecasting.

Job Description

The Senior Delivery Manager drives strategic agile practices and continuous improvement at both the team and portfolio levels. This role involves evaluating and challenging existing organisational practices, identifying capability gaps, and providing thought leadership on agile applications. Key responsibilities include ensuring transparent communication of strategic outcomes, fostering a culture of rapid iteration, and accelerating the delivery of results.

What you’ll do:

• Partner with Product and Engineering leads to maintaining well structured backlogs, evaluating capacity trade-offs during priority changes to protect engineers from fatigue and context-switching.
• Map and align integration points across front end app teams, core backend services, analytics pipelines, and third-party vendor systems.
• Proactively hunt down technical blockers, operational bottlenecks, and scope inflation and actively clear them before they derail target deployment dates.
• Facilitate key agile frameworks and cross-squad planning forums (including retrospectives, dependency mapping, and multi-team syncs) to ensure operational alignment.
• Instill a "people over process" mindset across squads, empowering teams to self-organise, eliminate internal friction, and build an open, honest, and vibrant culture of continuous learning.
• Manage our bi-weekly cross-stream release cycle, ensuring work items hit strict QA regression cutoff windows and satisfy strict app store submission schedules.
• Deliver clear, data-informed execution status to portfolio directors and leadership teams using automated dashboards, keeping communication high without adding reporting overhead for developers.

What you’ll bring:

• Experience guiding software delivery, or iteration leadership within complex digital product organisations.
• Direct experience managing concurrent deployments across mobile ecosystems, web apps, and TV platforms (Apple TV, Android TV, Samsung/LG).
• Deep practical experience applying Lean, Scrum and Kanban principles tailored to the actual needs of a fast-moving, high performing engineering culture.
• Proven ability to bridge technical and business discussions, translating complex engineering constraints into clear options for product leads, executives, and vendor contacts.
• Familiarity with A/B testing infrastructure, customer data platforms, or subscription business.
• Solid understanding of modern continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices, release branching strategies, and platform-level QA testing methodologies.
• Basic technical literacy around video playback engines, metadata feeds, recommendation logic, or content delivery workflows.
• Recognized industry qualifications (e.g., CSM, PSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP) that back up your practical execution experience.
• Experience leveraging AI to optimise delivery workflows, automate routine reporting, and enhance predictive forecasting for project timelines and resource allocation.
