Effective People is seeking a senior EL1 Lead Network Security Engineer to operate and strengthen critical government network infrastructure in a Defence environment. The role focuses on practical security across architecture, infrastructure and device configurations, with a hands-on approach to hardening systems against advanced threats.

You will work across network services, devices, and security frameworks to identify weaknesses and implement defence-in-depth improvements in collaboration

Competenze

• Minimum 5 years in a cyber/security role.
• Experience implementing, maintaining and assessing established network practices.
• Ability to advise on practical improvements to network security.

• Plan, implement and operate network services across hardware and virtual environments.
• Test and maintain network infrastructure, software and hardware devices.
• Assess network requirements, architecture and infrastructure.
• Review complex information systems using contemporary security frameworks and toolsets.
• Apply knowledge of attacker techniques, tools and processes.
• Assess critical infrastructure systems and identify security weaknesses.
• Recommend practical network hardening and defence-in-depth improvements.
