Job summary

Rowing Australia Ltd seeks a Data Scientist / Senior Data Scientist to lead our performance intelligence capability and turn complex data into actionable insights for coaches, athletes and performance teams. You will develop data systems, analytics and decision-support tools within the High Performance unit, enabling evidence-based decisions that improve athlete development and international results.

Qualifications

• Degree in data science, computer science, mathematics or related field.
• Experience with SQL, Python and data platforms (Snowflake/SQL Server).
• Experience developing and evaluating statistical and machine learning models.
• Experience with GitHub or GitLab and data visualization tools.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and evolution of Rowing Australia’s High Performance Data Strategy.
• Design and improve data systems, pipelines, dashboards and reporting tools.
• Develop analytics, statistical models and ML solutions to support athlete performance.
• Lead performance analysis, benchmarking and predictive modelling.
• Translate complex data into clear insights for coaches and performance teams.
