Job summary

Hydrogen UK Ltd. is seeking an experienced Data Tester to join our data and technology team within a leading financial services organisation. The role focuses on ensuring data accuracy, completeness, integrity and reliability across cloud platforms and pipelines.

You will design and execute testing strategies, write complex SQL for data validation, and develop automated checks in Snowflake and Airflow, while collaborating with data engineers, analysts and stakeholders to improve pipeline quality.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience in data testing, ETL testing, data quality or data engineering QA.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake and Python automation.
• Advanced SQL skills for validating large datasets.
• Experience with Apache Airflow including DAGs and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive data testing strategies across enterprise data platforms.
• Perform ETL/ELT, data warehouse, data pipeline and integration testing.
• Validate data transformations, reconciliations and data quality through SQL tests.
• Test data within Snowflake: tables, views, stored procedures and logic.
• Validate ingestion/transformations across source and target systems.
• Work with Airflow to test pipeline workflows, DAGs, dependencies and scheduling.
• Create automated tests and validation checks integrated into Airflow pipelines and CI/CD.
• Implement data quality checks: completeness, accuracy, uniqueness, referential integrity.
• Monitor pipeline execution, DAG runs, retries and downstream impacts.
• Trace data issues through Airflow, sources and Snowflake transformations.
• Document defects and coordinate resolution with engineering teams.
• Support regression, system integration and end-to-end testing.
• Translate requirements into effective test scenarios and automated rules.
