Simple Machines is a global data consultancy based in Sydney, Australia. We seek a senior, technically credible analyst-advocate who understands how data moves, is structured, and what it means for business outcomes.

You will act as the customer's proxy inside delivery, read data models, verify data, and shape requirements with the tech lead. This role focuses on data platform, data product, and governance, requiring SQL fluency and strong stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Data-focused technical BA, engagement analyst or consultant background.
• SQL fluency and data-model literacy.
• Experience with modern cloud data stack and ETL/ELT.
• Strong requirements craft: elicitation, workshops, acceptance criteria, backlog, RAID.
• Not a software or ERP BA; SQL required.
• Proven stakeholder proxy and customer advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Act as the customer's proxy inside delivery.
• Define and defend a clear point of view on data problems.
• Shape the solution with the tech lead and translate to requirements.
• Deliver documentation that keeps engagements moving.
• Think in outcomes, prioritisation and value when required.
