Job summary

APM seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design, build and optimise enterprise data platforms using the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem. You will lead data platform modernisation, governance and cloud transformation initiatives across reporting, analytics and AI readiness.

You will work with Architects, Cyber Security, Infrastructure and Analytics teams, providing technical leadership, mentoring and a focus on scalable, secure data solutions for governance and compliance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience supporting enterprise data platforms.
• Hands-on with Microsoft Fabric implementations.
• Strong expertise in Fabric, OneLake, Lakehouse and Warehouse architectures.
• Proficiency with SQL, Python and PySpark.
• Experience designing secure, scalable and governed cloud data platforms.
• Understanding of governance, security, encryption, auditing and compliance.
• Experience with performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and business-focused communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimise Microsoft Fabric solutions across data layers.
• Develop and optimise batch and near real-time data pipelines.
• Lead governance, security, and compliance across the data lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to data teams.
• Troubleshoot production environments and drive continuous improvement.
• Drive data platform migration, modernisation and reporting transformations.
