Job summary

New Vision Software is seeking an experienced Senior Data Manager for a long-term federal government engagement in Melbourne. You will champion data management and data ethics, ensuring data is properly managed throughout its lifecycle and used ethically.

You will support business teams, advise on improvements to assurance processes and tools, develop team capability, and provide recommendations and briefs for senior leaders and committees.

• Knowledge of relevant data management approaches and frameworks.

As a Senior Data Manager you will champion data management and data ethics, assessing AI and other complex data initiatives to ensure data is appropriately managed throughout its lifecycle and used ethically. You will support business teams, advise on improvements to assurance processes and tools, develop team capability, and provide recommendations and briefs for senior leaders and committees.

Key skills we’re looking for:

Extensive knowledge of:

• Data management fundamentals and how they apply across a broad range of disciplines (expert understanding)
• Relevant data management approaches and frameworks

Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of the following:

• Legislation, policies, procedures and information management relevant to the work area
• The agency’s strategic direction, priorities and functions
• Frameworks, legislation, policies, procedures and information management requirements relevant to the work area
• The agency’s privacy, ethics, workplace health and safety and security protocols
• Relevant business systems and tools.
