Job summary

IT Alliance is seeking a Senior Data Manager to lead governance initiatives across our Federal Government clients in multiple Australian cities. You will shape data policies, access controls and metadata standards to ensure compliant, high-quality data assets across agencies.

The role requires hands-on governance tool experience, strong SQL/Python data querying skills, and the ability to drive adoption through training and guidance for teams implementing new digital capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience with data governance tools or platforms (Collibra, Informatica, IBM Knowledge Catalogue or similar).
• Ability to use SQL, Python or similar to query and analyse data across agency platforms.
• Knowledge of data access protocols and data governance frameworks.
• Familiarity with metadata standards and relevant legislation and policy settings.
• Understanding of data quality dimensions and lifecycle management.
• Experience supporting change management, user guidance and training for new data capabilities.

One of our Federal Government clients is looking for Senior Data Manager in Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Hobart.

We are looking for the following Skills/Experience:

• Experience with data governance tools or platforms, such as Collibra, Informatica, IBM Knowledge Catalogue or similar.
• Ability to use data querying such as SQL, Python or similar to query and analyse data stored across agency data platforms.
• Has a comprehensive knowledge of protocols associated with data access.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks, data operating models, metadata standards or relevant legislation and policy settings.
• Understanding of data quality dimensions, data lifecycle management and information management principles.
• Experience supporting change management, user guidance, training or adoption activities for new data or digital capabilities.
