Are you passionate about making a positive impact to our members dignified retirement?

As Senior Data & Insights Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in helping Hostplus make better decisions through trusted data, actionable insights and responsible AI-enabled analytics solutions. Combining deep analytical expertise with strong business consulting capability, you will transform complex data into meaningful intelligence that improves business performance, enhances member outcomes and supports strategic decision-making across the organisation.

The opportunity

This is an opportunity to join Hostplus' Data, Analytics & Insights function and play an important role in shaping how data and insights are used across the organisation. You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand strategic priorities, solve complex business problems and identify opportunities to unlock greater value from data.

You will lead the design and delivery of analytics solutions across business intelligence, advanced analytics and AI, developing trusted reports, dashboards and analytical outputs. Partnering with Data Engineers, you will help define data requirements and apply dimensional and Kimball modelling concepts to deliver high-quality analytical solutions.

Beyond the technical aspects of the role, you will act as a trusted adviser to stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into clear business language and presenting insights and recommendations to executive and non-technical audiences. As a senior member of the team, you will also mentor other analysts, champion strong data governance and support the responsible adoption of AI across Hostplus.

About you

You are an experienced data and analytics professional who combines technical capability with strong commercial thinking, curiosity and the ability to turn complex information into clear, actionable insights.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:
  • 5+ years' experience across business analytics, business intelligence, reporting or related roles, including experience partnering with stakeholders and mentoring other analysts.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large and complex datasets using Power BI, Python and Snowflake, or comparable analytics platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI technologies, including LLMs and agentic AI, to support advanced analytics use cases, with an understanding of trusted data, explainability, validation and responsible adoption.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with the business acumen to connect analysis with strategic and commercial outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of dimensional and Kimball modelling and the ability to partner effectively with Data Engineers.
  • Strong stakeholder consulting, facilitation and communication skills, with the confidence to constructively challenge and build trusted relationships.
  • An understanding of data governance, data quality, privacy, metadata and lineage within an enterprise environment.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring analysts and contributing to the uplift of team capability and quality standards.
  • Experience within superannuation, financial services or another regulated environment would be highly regarded.
  • A background in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or Data Science would be desirable.
