Job summary

University of Queensland seeks a Senior Business Analyst in Data Strategy and Governance to shape the university’s data governance capability. You will work with the Solution Architect and diverse stakeholders to develop conceptual data models and governance artefacts, defining business requirements and risks while providing data governance guidance.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualifications in Information Technology or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience in business analysis including requirements elicitation and risk management.
• Proven experience in data governance, information management, enterprise architecture or data services environments.
• Ability to develop business process models and conceptual data models for enterprise architecture.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex information into practical solutions.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills with ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyse and define risks and business requirements; provide complex data governance advice.
• Prepare key BA documentation: business cases, risk reviews, conceptual data models, issue papers.
• Develop and maintain enterprise data artefacts like information entity catalogue and business glossary.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders; collaborate with Solution Architect on conceptual data models and terms.
• Support the Solution Architect to implement UQ’s data architecture framework.
• Drive delivery of data initiatives; manage changes to data models and glossary definitions.
• Supervise the Data Governance Officer and ensure HR processes align with University policies.
