Job summary

Jetstar, part of the Qantas Group, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to shape how the organisation uses data. You will help evolve our Snowflake-centric cloud data platform, ensuring scalable pipelines, data quality, and secure governance.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract based at Jetstar HQ in Melbourne with flexible hybrid working and a travel benefit from day one. You will lead data architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with stakeholders to enable rapid

Qualifications

Bachelor-level or higher in CS/Engineering/IT/Data Science or equivalent
Experience with Snowflake and data platforms in enterprise environments
Proven ability to design and build data pipelines and data models
Security, governance, and compliance considerations in data projects

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines across the data platform
Evolve DataOps practices to improve data quality, delivery speed, and reliability
Own data architecture decisions balancing performance and cost
Define data quality standards and ensure trustworthy data assets
Ensure data governance, security, and compliance are embedded by design
Influence data platform direction and uplift engineering capability
