Job summary
Qantas is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team at Mascot Campus with hybrid options. The role focuses on scalable data solutions, end-to-end data pipelines and cloud platform improvements.
You will work with Architects, Product Owners and Analysts, contributing to design, development, maintenance and governance of data products. Strong Snowflake and AWS experience is essential, plus dbt, Python and SQL proficiency.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in data engineering in large tech environments.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field.
- Hands-on Snowflake experience including modelling and cost optimization.
- Strong AWS data services experience (or Azure/GCP).
- Proficient with dbt, SQL, Python and Airflow.
- Experience with Terraform and IaC.
- Proven ability to design and operate data products with governance.
- Exposure to FinOps and cost attribution.
Responsibilities
- Develop scalable, reliable data solutions across cloud platforms.
- Participate in design, development, implementation, and maintenance of data pipelines.
- Collaborate with Architects, Delivery Leads and Product Owners to translate requirements.
- Ensure data quality, security and governance across domains.
