Qantas Group in Sydney’s Mascot Campus is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and implement scalable, cost-efficient data solutions across end-to-end data platforms. You’ll help translate business and analytics needs into practical cloud-based architecture.

You will collaborate with Architects, Delivery Leads and Product Owners, supporting enterprise standards while growing the Data Engineering practice. Hybrid working options apply, with staff travel benefits from day one.

Qualificações

• 5+ years' experience in data engineering or a similar hands-on, data-intensive role within a large and complex technology environment.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/technical field.
• Expert hands-on experience with Snowflake, including data modelling, platform security, access controls, performance tuning and cost optimisation.
• Advanced experience with AWS and its data, storage and integration services; or equivalent Azure or Google Cloud experience.
• Strong expertise in dbt (core), including transformation, modelling, automated testing, documentation and release management.
• Experience with enterprise-scale workflow orchestration, ideally using Apache Airflow or AWS Managed Workflows.
• Advanced SQL capability, including complex analytical queries, query optimisation and set-based problem-solving.
• Strong Python experience for data engineering, with version control and automated testing.

Responsabilidades

• Develop scalable, reliable and cost-effective data solutions across end-to-end data platforms and pipelines.
• Collaborate with Architects, Delivery Leads and Product Owners to translate business needs into cloud-based solutions.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering standards across internal and partner teams.
• Support continuous improvement of the Data Engineering practice.
