Job summary

Equiem, a global technology company in the real estate sector, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer. You will own end-to-end data pipelines, design scalable data models, and shape a warehouse powering reporting, BI, and AI features.

You will ensure data quality, cost efficiency, and maintainability while collaborating with product, analytics, and customer success teams to translate needs into robust dbt marts. This role offers flexible remote work across Australia.

Qualifications

• Production data pipelines experience, ideally event-driven or streaming.
• Strong SQL and dbt experience.
• Familiarity with AWS data services: S3, Athena, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, SQS, SNS, Opensearch.
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript/Node.js for pipeline code.
• Experience with AWS CDK.
• Strong instinct for data quality: write tests and treat unvalidated data as a bug.
• Clear communication about schema decisions and pipeline tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines spanning ingestion, streaming, storage, and transformation.
• Lead or contribute to data model and architecture decisions across the data platform.
• Build and evolve Glue ETL jobs and dbt model layers.
• Ensure pipeline correctness with exactly-once delivery and schema migrations.
• Implement data quality assertions and monitor pipeline health.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, and customer success to translate needs into dbt marts.
