Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking an experienced senior data engineer to deliver scalable Pentaho solutions for critical insurance processes. Success combines deep ETL engineering, insurance-domain expertise, and pragmatic team leadership.

Responsibilities include transforming mappings into robust pipelines, deploying via Docker/Jenkins, and mentoring a team of 8-10 developers in an Agile environment.

Competenze

• 10+ years of experience in data warehousing, ETL, and data integration.
• Hands-on expertise with Pentaho Data Integration (Spoon, Kitchen, Pan).
• Advanced Oracle and PostgreSQL skills with performance tuning.
• Unix/Linux, shell scripting, and JavaScript proficiency.
• Docker-based deployments; GitHub version control and Jira for delivery.
• Strong ETL frameworks knowledge, data modeling, and scalable architecture.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced senior data engineer to deliver scalable Pentaho solutions for critical insurance processes. Success combines deep ETL engineering, insurance-domain expertise, and pragmatic team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret source-to-target mappings and translate them into robust technical solutions.

• Develop complex ETL workflows and database scripts for data migration frameworks.

• Deploy and manage solutions using Docker and Jenkins pipelines.

• Optimize ETL processes for performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Investigate and resolve issues across Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, and ContactManager.

• Identify code defects and recommend effective enhancements or fixes.

• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and delivery outcomes.

• Troubleshoot production issues while safeguarding data quality, integrity, and operational continuity.

• Provide technical direction, support agile delivery, and mentor the development team.

Required Technical Expertise:

• Designing complex transformations, reusable ETL frameworks, and pattern-based jobs.

• Performance optimization using partitioning, clustering, and caching.

• Pentaho repository administration and deployment strategies.

• Integration with REST and SOAP APIs, including JSON and XML processing.

• Experience with Carte Server and CI/CD integration for Pentaho.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in data warehousing, ETL, and data integration.

• Strong hands-on expertise in Pentaho Data Integration, including Spoon, Kitchen, and Pan.

• Advanced Oracle and PostgreSQL skills, including database and query performance tuning.

• Proficiency in Unix/Linux, shell scripting, and JavaScript.

• Experience with Docker-based deployments and environment management.

• Hands‑on experience with GitHub for version control and Jira for delivery tracking.

• Strong understanding of ETL frameworks, data modeling, transformation logic, and scalable data architecture.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, decision-making, leadership, and communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of 8-10 developers
